The Veolia North America (VNA) Henderson, Colorado facility operates as a fully permitted treatment and storage operation performing solvent recycling as well as fuels blending. The Henderson facility is located on approximately 15 acres in an industrial/agricultural area of unincorporated Adams County, 20 miles northeast of downtown Denver. The site was constructed in 1980 by its original owner, Oil and Solvent Process Company. In 1981, the facility became the first hazardous waste operation in the United States to be granted a RCRA Part B Hazardous Waste Permit.

VNA-Henderson has the capability to store 6,000 containers (55-gallon equivalent) and approximately 70,000 gallons of bulk material. The container storage units have concrete pads with dikes and sumps to separate incompatibles and provide secondary containment. Containers are processed for shipments to various Veolia and non-Veolia disposal/treatment facilities. The Henderson facility accepts and manages virtually every type of hazardous waste (including dioxins) and constituents identified in 40 CFR Part 261 with the exception of:

  • Radioactive Material
  • Infection Material
  • Forbidden and Class A & B Explosives
  • Putrescible Municipal Garbage/Refuse
